About the AMBER Program
The AMBER Plan, which stands for America's Missing:
Broadcast Emergency Response, was established
in response to a 1996 abduction and murder of
9-year-old Amber Hagerman in Arlington, TX. The
goal of the AMBER Alert is to instantly galvanize
the entire community to assist in the search for
and safe return of an abducted child. Alerts provide
information such as the child's physical description,
age, location where he/she was abducted from,
and who he/she was last seen with, etc.
EATEL & LA State Police Partnership
As a communications company, EATEL is providing
the resources to help LA State Police issue AMBER
Alerts to thousands of people throughout the state.
Once an AMBER Alert is issued by the State Police,
EATEL will automatically send an email announcing
a child has been abducted to customers, employees,
and the general public. Alerts will also be posted
on www.eatel.net.
